Alex Gorenstein is Managing Director of Investments for Altman and oversees the full life cycle of Altman’s investments. He has over 15 years of experience in real estate and is well-versed in various real estate asset classes. He leads investment execution and asset management functions across ground-up development, redevelopment, adaptive reuse, value-add, and built-to-hold strategies in the Eastern U.S. and Florida. Alex has overseen projects totaling more than $3B in capitalization, involving various complex financing structures. He is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, structuring, execution, investment/asset management, and value monetization, as well as for managing, training and ensuring performance of analytical, underwriting, execution, and asset management teams.

Prior to joining Altman, Alex worked at Rialto Capital, a private equity real estate firm, where he underwrote the acquisition of over $3 billion in CMBS and distressed loan portfolio investments secured by various real estate asset classes throughout the U.S. He also helped manage and oversee a portfolio of $1 billion of non-performing commercial real estate loans.
