As Controller of Altman Builders, Chris Tanis supervises the company’s accounting department. His responsibilities include financial management of the construction company while ensuring the company’s financial statements and practices are in strict compliance with GAAP. Other responsibilities include supervising job cost accounting and forecasting functions, audit coordination, cash management, and other general accounting practices, as well as assisting affiliate company accounting departments on an as-needed basis.
Chris has been with the company for over 21 years and has over 23 years of experience in real estate construction and development accounting. Additionally, Chris has 5 years of experience in the civil construction industry as a Project Accountant and Field Office Manager with a roadway and bridge construction general contractor performing over $250 million of construction volume annually.
Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University.
